Nakamichi Dragon External Subwoofer Conversion Kit — Use Any Subwoofer

Convert your Nakamichi Dragon subwoofers into standalone units.

This kit moves the amplifier electronics from your Nakamichi Dragon soundbar's dual 8" wireless subwoofers into external enclosures, so you can drive any subwoofer you like instead of the factory 8" drivers.

Each Dragon subwoofer contributes one amp plate with two speaker-level outputs, so a complete kit gives you four speaker-level outputs total — enough to run up to four external subwoofers. Those outputs work with passive subwoofers, or active subwoofers that accept speaker-level inputs. For line-level-only subs, add a speaker-level to line-level adapter.

Installation takes about 10 minutes per subwoofer with no soldering — every connection is made with the included Wago lever connectors, and the enclosures arrive assembled and pre-wired, ready for you to drop in the amp plates.  You will need to cut the wires to get your plates removed from the original enclosures.

Choose your configuration

• Two separate boxes — one enclosure per Dragon amp plate. Independent placement, matches the original layout.
• One combined box — both amp plates in a single enclosure. Fewer parts to place and route, smaller overall footprint, cleaner single-location install.

Both options are complete kits that convert both Dragon subwoofers and provide all four outputs. The only difference is whether the electronics live in one enclosure or two.

What's included

Both configurations include:

• 20 ga speaker wire — matches the gauge of the Dragon amp plates' internal wiring
• Wago lever connectors (no soldering required)
• 4 pairs of banana binding-post terminals — your four speaker-level outputs
• Assembled and pre-wired enclosures, ready for the amp plates to be installed and hooked up

Configuration-specific:

• Two separate boxes: 2 ASA enclosures, one amp plate each, 2 pairs of posts per box
• One combined box: 1 ASA enclosure housing both amp plates, all 4 pairs of posts

Not included: subwoofers, subwoofer covers, RCA/line-level adapters, the Dragon amp plates themselves (you transplant those from your existing Dragon subwoofers), or any modification to your original subwoofer cabinets.
